How Rotarad was born

Rotarad is the brainchild of successful engineer Malcolm Keeling who discovered first hand a problem encountered by thousands of people daily. Unlike most, he decided to do something about it, as he explains himself...

"A few years ago I bought an old house which needed renovating from roof to cellar. The central heating radiators were the only reasonably recent addition to the property, but when it came to redecorating, what a nightmare! After struggling with badly cross-threaded connections and dumping a couple of gallons of dirty water on the floor, I realised there had to be a better way.

As an engineer I was familiar with problem solving. So I started designing various brackets, catches and connections until they all came together and a workable solution was found.

Proud of my idea, I demonstrated it to a friend who immediately suggested it should be available to everyone. 'Think of the benefits,' he said, 'just being able to get behind a radiator to clean out the dust mite would be really useful for people who suffer from allergies; being able to paint or wallpaper right down to the floor - fantastic; no more leaky reconnections; no more re-pressurising systems.'

That's how Rotarad came to be and I'm both delighted and excited that my solution is now available for everyone to benefit from it."
